Google Home is a smart speaker developed by Google as part of its "made by Google" product line. Google Home stands as a rival to Amazon Echo. It was released on November 4, 2016 for US$129. It is a voice-activated speaker powered by a Google Assistant. You can ask questions to it and also tell it to do things.

Your voice requests can trigger Google Home to play music, podcasts or radio from different services like Google Play Music, YouTube music, Pandora and TuneIn.

Google Home is sleek-looking, has a clean touch pad, far-field voice recognition technology which allows you to use Google Home hands-free, a mic mute button and a high excursion speaker for great, quality and HiFi sound. It has a modular design for customization which looks really good.

Google Home will have its services integrated into the operating system and supports commands and features similar to the Amazon Echo. The intelligent assistant by Google, Google Assistant, will be the only and primary assistant in the software and operating system of Google Home. A very good feature is that Google Home's assistant will be able to engage in two-way conversations.

Another very important and interesting feature of Google Home is home automation. Google Home will be able to control other devices as a central hub. Borrowing from Chromecast's technology, Google Home will be able to control multiple Home speakers wirelessly as well, reaching multiple rooms. Google Home can also control a Chromecast, or any Google Cast enabled device to stream video or audio.

It's operating system is Chromecast System Software (based on android and ChromeOS). It has an ARM CPU and Wi-Fi connectivity.
