Amazon Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV is a small network appliance and entertainment device designed to stream digital audio or video content to a high definition television. With the Amazon Fire TV, you can play video games with the included remote, via mobile app or with an optional game controller.

There are two generations of the Amazon Fire TV:

First Generation

The features of the First Generation Amazon Fire TV are:

• 2 GB RAM
• MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi
• Bluetooth Remote Control with a microphone for voice search
• It supported 1080p streaming and Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound.

Second Generation

• Improved Processor Speed
• 4K UHD Support

The First Generation Amazon Fire TV was unveiled on April 2, 2014 and the Second Generation was released in the late 2015.

Amazon also released a smaller version of the Fire TV called the Amazon Fire TV Stick on November 19, 2014. On October 20, 2016, the Amazon Fire TV Stick was released with Alexa Voice Remote.

The Fire TV Stick is bundled with a TV remote, a model with voice search on the remote and one without.

Amazon Echo Dot

I've already posted on Amazon Echo and, as the name suggests, this one is also by Amazon. It is a hands-free, voice-controlled device which uses Alexa to play music, control smart home devices, provide information, read the news, set alarms and much more. I think both, Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot have the same purpose but that Amazon Echo is a speaker and has a greater price than Amazon Echo Dot
